On the trck, Eminem calls MGK his son and pokes fun at the Cleveland rapper’s man bun:

Realized I forgot to call you back
Here’s that autograph for your daughter, I wrote it on a Starter cap
Stan, Stan, son, listen, man, dad isn’t mad
But how you gonna name yourself after a damn gun and have a man bun?

The Detroit rapper follows up by touting his superior sales before insisting that he didn’t try to blackball MGK:

エミネムは、MGKをblackball【(…に)反対投票をする、(…を)(社会的に)排斥(はいせき)する、のけ者にする】しようとする前に彼の過去の売り上げをtouting((…を)押し売りする、うるさく勧誘する、客引きする、toutの現在分詞)することでフォローアップした...?

Ow, Kelly, ooh, but I’m 45 and I’m still outselling you
By 29 I had three albums that had blew
Now let’s talk about somethin' I don’t really do
Go in someone’s daughter’s mouth stealin' food

Then, Eminem takes a jab at MGK’s signing to Bad Boy Records and compares him to Taylor Swift and Iggy Azalea:

  • take jab at - ~を非難[攻撃]する
  • compare ~ to - ~を…と比較する[比べる・対照する]

エミネムはMGKがバッドボーイレコードへ歌ったことに対し攻撃をし、彼をテイラースイフトたイギーと比較している

Shootin' a video just to fuckin' dig your own grave
Got you at your own wake, I’m the billy goat
You ain’t never made a list next to no Biggie, no Jay
Next to Taylor Swift, and that Iggy ho, you about to really blow

He continues with a reminder of previously dispatched rappers such as Ja Ruleand Benzino, whom he beefed with in the early 2000s. Genius contributors MinorityFam and ashfromParamore break down the feuds:

Eminem also boasts about giving MGK’s a career a boost before demolishing it:

Gotta wake up Labor Day to this (the fuck?)
Bein' rich, aimed by some prick usin' my name for clickbait
In a state of bliss ‘cause I said his goddamn name
Now I gotta cock back, aim, yeah, bitch, pop champagne to this
It’s your moment, this is it
As big as you’re gonna get, so enjoy it
Had to give you a career to destroy it

Toward the end of “KILLSHOT,” Eminem alludes to the urban legend that Puff Daddy put out the hit for 2Pac’s murder. Genius contributor Jordan Bunke breaks it down in an annotation:

As Genius contributor the_c0unt, Eminem previously mentioned Puffy on The Marshall Mathers LP single “I’m Back,” when he raps about the mogul’s then girlfriend Jennifer Lopez:

Cause if I ever stuck it to any singer in showbiz
It’d be Jennifer Lopez — and Puffy, you know this

In a recent interview with Sway Calloway, Eminem confirmed that he started the recent of beef with MGK after the latter rapper’s perceived diss on Tech N9ne’s “No Reason (The Mosh Pit Song).” Although MGK’s mention of Eminem’s daughter set things off, he hadn’t planned on acting right away.

“People start hitting me up. ‘Yo, Machine Gun Kelly just dissed you.’ … I listen to it, I’m like, ‘Did he really diss me, though?’ I keep listening to it, ‘Y'all rap, you’re not gods,’ and then somebody sends me a screenshot of his Twitter and it says, ‘Had to get some shit off my chest. You just rap, you not God,‘” Eminem explained. “By the way, this was on the heels of the freestyle he just did about Shade 45. Now, I’m in this fucking weird thing because I’m like, ‘I gotta answer this motherfucker.’”

On Eminem’s Kamikaze track “Not Alike,” he references the time Kelly called Hailie “hot as fuck” when she was only 16 years old:

But next time you don’t gotta use Tech N9ne
If you wanna come at me with a sub-machine gun
And I’m talkin' to you, but you already know who the fuck you are, Kelly
I don’t use sublims and sure as fuck don’t sneak-diss
But keep commentin' on my daughter Hailie

Genius explained all the shots Em took throughout Kamikaze, including the bars he aimed at MGK:

MGK responded a few days later with “Rap Devil,” which features the Cleveland rapper accusing Eminem of allegedly trying to sabotage his career and (in his view) being old and bitter about his place in the current rap landscape:

Let’s talk about the fact you actually blackballed a rapper that’s twice as young as you
Let’s call Sway, ask why I can’t go on Shade 45 because of you
Let’s ask Interscope how you had Paul Rosenberg trying to shelf me
Still can’t cover up the fact your last four albums is as bad as your selfie

We also broke down MGK’s disses on “Rap Devil”:
